Die Modelierscheren, auch Ausdünnscheren gennant zeichnen, sich dadurch aus das sie eine gezahnte Schnittfläche haben und eine normale glatte Schnittfläche. Dadurch werden bei jedem Schnitt ungefähr 50% der Haare geschnitten und man dünnt das Haar somit aus. Neben der Schneide ist es auch wichtig wie ergonomisch die Schere aufgebaut ist, dabei sollte man insbesondere auf den Haken und die Scherenaugen achten. 

Die Effilierscheren, auch Ausdünnscheren gennant, zeichnen sich dadurch aus das sie zwei gezahnte Schnittfläche haben. Dadurch werden bei jedem Schnitt ungefähr 30% der Haare geschnitten und man dünnt das Haar somit aus. Neben der Schneide ist es auch wichtig auf die Ergonomie der Schere zu achten, dabei sollte man insbesondere auf den Haken und die Scherenaugen achten.
